Vizianagaram District to Expand Horticulture to 2,500 Acres
The government is helping farmers in Vizianagaram grow more fruits and flowers.
They're using a program called MGNREGS to help.
Farmers who are part of SC/ST communities and those with small farms can join.
They will plant fruits and flowers on about 2,500 acres of land.
Some fruits include mangoes and coconuts.
The government will pay for the care of the plants for a few years.
If you want to join, talk to the local government officer.
Vizianagaram district plans a large-scale expansion of fruit and flower plantations.
The expansion will utilize the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
The target for horticulture crop plantations is approximately 2,500 acres by 2025-26.
The scheme is available for SC, ST, and small/marginal farmers (owning under five acres).
