Indore Penalizes Sanitation Inspectors for Garbage in Machhi Bazaar
In Indore, the city's top official, Kshitij Singhal, went on a surprise check early on Sunday.
He found garbage on the roads in the Machhi Bazaar area and punished two cleanliness inspectors by cutting their pay for one day.
He also told other bosses that if the area isn't cleaned up soon, they could face bigger trouble.
Later, he checked on a big road being built near a hotel and a forest.
This road is 2.4 kilometers long and costs a lot of money to build.
He told the workers to hurry up but also to make sure it's done well.
Municipal commissioner Kshitij Singhal conducted an early morning inspection of sanitation and roads in Zone No 2 and Zone No 12.
Two sanitation inspectors were penalized for garbage found in Machhi Bazaar, with a one-day salary deduction each.
Singhal warned of disciplinary action against chief sanitary inspectors if cleanliness does not improve.
The commissioner inspected an under-construction Master Plan road from Hotel Pride to City Forest, measuring 2.4 km and costing Rs 29.52 crore.
He instructed officials to accelerate construction while maintaining quality standards.
