SP Leader Suggests Akhilesh Yadav Lead INDIA Bloc After Bihar Results
After the Congress party did not do well in the Bihar elections, a leader from another party, the Samajwadi Party, said that their leader, Akhilesh Yadav, should be in charge of the whole group of opposition parties called the INDIA bloc.
The Samajwadi Party leader believes Akhilesh Yadav is a good choice because his party is well-organized and liked by people, and they won many seats in the past.
This leader also suggested that maybe the voting machines used in Bihar caused the opposition to lose.
Meanwhile, the Congress party, which won very few seats, is also talking about why they lost and is questioning the election officials.
Another party leader had previously suggested someone else from their party should lead the alliance.
SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra proposed that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav should lead the INDIA bloc following the party's poor performance in Bihar.
Mehrotra cited the Samajwadi Party's organizational strength and public appeal, as well as their 37 Lok Sabha seats in the previous year, as reasons for Yadav's suitability to lead.
The INDIA bloc, including the RJD, Congress, and Left parties, won a total of 35 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections, with Congress securing only six.
The SP MLA suggested that the INDIA bloc might have performed better in Bihar if ballot voting had been used instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, met to discuss the party's performance after the Bihar election results and questioned the Election Commission's role.
