Indore's Waste Model to Shape National Rules

Indore's Waste Model to Shape National Rules

Indore, a city in Madhya Pradesh, has a special way of managing waste that the whole country is looking at.

The city's mayor, Pushyamitra Bhargav, said that the new rules for waste management in India, called the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, are inspired by Indore's methods.

A big meeting was held in Indore with more than 250 leaders from different cities to learn about these new rules.

They talked about how to separate waste at the source, process it scientifically, recycle it, and get people involved in keeping their cities clean.

The mayor said that the leaders have an important role in teaching people about these new rules.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Mission for helping to make cities cleaner.

Indore's ideas are now being used as a model for other cities in India.
