Attitudinal Change Needed as Relationships Become Transactions, Columnist Says

Attitudinal Change Needed as Relationships Become Transactions, Columnist Says

A writer who teaches about life wrote a column about how people treat each other.

He says our world is full of ideas and rules that people learned a long time ago.

Some of those old ideas may no longer fit the way we live today, so we need to rethink them.

He believes every family is like the world's first school because children learn how to behave there.

If families have problems, those problems spread to the whole community.

He points out that in India, big families that included grandparents, parents, and cousins are being replaced by smaller families.

When people treat relationships like a trade where they only give if they get something back, trust goes away.

He says we can see this in more and more marriages ending in divorce.

He believes that if people change their attitudes and build stronger families, the whole world can become better.
