India to Begin Preferential Trade Talks with Mexico Next Week

India plans to start trade agreement talks with Mexico next week.

A trade agreement can make it easier for countries to buy and sell some goods with each other.

India hopes to improve access for its exporters and find more markets.

Products India sells to Mexico include cars and car parts, medicines, engineering goods, chemicals and textiles.

India is also discussing trade agreements with several other partners.

Canada’s trade minister is expected to visit India while the two countries continue their own negotiations.

They aim to finish those negotiations by the end of 2026.

India’s commerce minister said the country is aiming for $1 trillion in exports this financial year.
