FTC Commissioner Returns to Work After Court Ruling
Imagine the FTC is like a team that protects people from being tricked by companies.
The former president, Trump, tried to kick out one of the team members, Slaughter.
But a court said he couldn't do that.
The court believed the FTC should be independent.
This means the president shouldn't be able to easily fire people there.
So, Slaughter is back at her job.
She's now working to help make it easier to cancel subscriptions, like for streaming services, so people aren't tricked into paying for things they don't want.
Rebecca Kelly Slaughter has returned to the FTC following a court decision.
The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the attempt to remove Slaughter.
Trump's removal of Slaughter was deemed to have violated the FTC's intended independence.
Slaughter is now working to reinstate the 'Click to Cancel' rule.
FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson sided with the president in the removal attempt.
