India Boosts AVGC Sector with ₹250-Crore Budget Allocation

The Indian government is planning to set up special labs called AVGC Content Creator Labs in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges.

These labs will help students learn about animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics.

The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced this plan to support the growing AVGC sector in India.

Experts say this will create more jobs and help India become a global leader in digital content.

The sector is expected to grow a lot, with revenues increasing from ₹10,300 crore in 2024 to ₹147 billion by 2027.

This initiative will also help regional content creators and improve the quality of content in local languages.

The government has allocated ₹250 crore for this initiative, and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) in Mumbai will support it.

The AVGC sector is part of the 'Orange Economy,' which includes creative industries like culture, media, entertainment, and intellectual property.
