Supreme Court to hear plea on petrol ethanol disclosure

Supreme Court to hear plea on petrol ethanol disclosure

The Supreme Court will hear a case about petrol sold at fuel stations.

The case asks petrol pumps to tell customers how much ethanol is mixed into the petrol.

Narendra Kumar Goswami filed the petition.

He wants the information shown clearly on every fuel nozzle.

The proposed rule would apply across the country.

The petition asks the central government and other authorities to make this disclosure mandatory.

A two-judge Supreme Court bench will hear the matter.

The judges are Justices M M Sundresh and Prasanna B Varale.
