Telangana Backward Classes Commission Challenges Reservation Order
The Backward Classes Commission in Telangana is upset about a government order called GO Ms No.
46.
They say it has mistakes and misleading information about reservations for local body elections.
The chairman, G. Niranjan, explained that the order wrongly says a special commission recommended reservations for all groups, which isn't true.
He wants the order to be withdrawn and the reservation process to be looked at again to make sure it's fair for Backward Classes.
The commission was set up to decide how many seats should be reserved for Backward Classes, and they want to make sure their work is respected.
TG Commission for Backward Classes demands withdrawal of GO Ms No. 46 over alleged inaccuracies.
Chairman G. Niranjan states Para 5 of the GO misrepresents the Dedicated Commission's role.
The Dedicated Commission was appointed to specify BC reservations only, not for SC and ST.
Commission demands clarification on whether the Dedicated Commission bypassed its authority.
GO Ms No. 46 should be withdrawn and the reservation process reexamined for fairness.
