AAIB to Probe Air India Crash Using New Lab and Black Boxes
Investigators are examining the black boxes of the crashed Air India plane to figure out what happened.
These black boxes record flight data and conversations in the cockpit.
The investigation could happen in India at a brand new lab, or the boxes might be sent to a more advanced lab overseas, potentially in the US.
The lab in India is a new facility designed to help with such investigations.
The goal is to determine the cause of the crash, which tragically resulted in the loss of 241 lives.
AAIB will analyze the black boxes from the Air India Boeing 787-8 crash.
The analysis may occur at the AAIB's new lab or be sent overseas.
The DFDR has been recovered, but the CVR is still being searched for.
The new lab cost Rs 9 crore and opened in April.
