Probe panel finds all three charges proved against Justice Varma

Probe panel finds all three charges proved against Justice Varma

A very important judge in India, named Justice Yashwant Varma, lived in a big official house in New Delhi.

One night in March 2025, a fire started in his house.

Firefighters came to put out the fire and found a lot of burnt money in a storage room.

A special committee of three people was asked by Parliament to find out how the money got there.

The committee asked the judge to explain where the money came from and who it belonged to.

The judge could not give a good answer.

The committee said all three charges against him are 'proved', which means they believe the accusations are true.

The committee also said the storage room was touched before it could be properly sealed and checked, and the money later disappeared.

The judge said the money may have been planted by someone else to frame him, but he did not show any proof.

Because of all this, the judge resigned, and Parliament published the committee's report on August 12.
