HDFC Bank Chairman Rajiv Kumar Rules Out Systemic Governance Concerns

HDFC Bank Chairman Rajiv Kumar Rules Out Systemic Governance Concerns

HDFC Bank is a very big bank that helps people save money and borrow money.

People who own small pieces of the bank are called shareholders.

Every year, the bank holds a big meeting to tell them how things are going.

This year, the meeting was extra important because the old chairman had quit a few months earlier.

He said he was worried about the way the bank did things, so he left.

The bank asked outside lawyers to check his worries, and they said they did not find proof of any big problems.

The bank did admit it found small mistakes in how it got big deposits from a road-building company, and it warned its leaders.

At the meeting, the new chairman, Rajiv Kumar, told everyone the bank is honest and strong.

The shareholders voted yes on all nine things the bank asked them to approve.

The bank also said it hopes to get cheaper money from customers' savings accounts starting in the middle of 2027.
