MMRDA Adds CCTV, Voice Recording to Rehabilitation Offices

MMRDA Adds CCTV, Voice Recording to Rehabilitation Offices

MMRDA helps manage housing and rehabilitation for people affected by development projects.

It says some brokers or middlemen may have interfered in these cases.

To make meetings more transparent, cameras and voice recorders will be placed in some officials’ cabins.

A screen outside the cabins will show who is meeting each official.

Project-affected people and their blood relatives will need identification to enter the Social Development Room.

Visitors will also have to register their details.

Security staff will keep records of whom visitors meet.

Employees who work with unauthorized brokers may face disciplinary action.

Sixteen employees were transferred after a surprise inspection of the department.
