VMC Urges Building Owners to Use BPS-2025
The Vijayawada city government is asking people who have built houses or buildings without permission to use a special program called the Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS) - 2025.
This program helps them make their buildings legal.
The buildings must have been built between 1985 and 2025.
People have until March 11, 2026, to apply online.
If their building was built before 1998, they can get a discount on the fees.
The government says if people don't apply or keep building illegally, they will be punished.
VMC Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra urged building owners to use BPS-2025 to regularise unauthorised constructions.
The scheme applies to buildings constructed between January 1, 1985, and August 31, 2025.
Applications must be submitted online by March 11, 2026, through the portal www.bps.ap.gov.in.
A 25% rebate on regularisation charges is offered for buildings constructed before December 31, 1997.
Strict action will be taken against those who fail to apply or continue illegal constructions.
