Leopards Rescued in Indore and Jalpaiguri
In Indore, a young female leopard fell into an open well near a water park.
The rescue team got the call around lunchtime and quickly went to help.
They carefully took the leopard out without hurting her.
The leopard is now at the zoo where doctors are checking her health.
Meanwhile, in Jalpaiguri, an adult male leopard was trapped in a cage using a goat as bait.
This was the third leopard rescued in the area within a week.
The leopard is now under observation at a nature center.
Forest officials are worried because leopards are coming into villages more often due to losing their forest homes.
A three-year-old female leopard was rescued from an open well near Crescent Water Park in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The Ralamandal Regional Rescue Team successfully extracted the leopard without injury around Saturday afternoon.
The leopard was shifted to a zoo for medical examination and observation.
In Jalpaiguri, an adult male leopard was trapped in a cage using live bait, marking the third leopard rescue in the area within a week.
Forest teams in Indore have conducted 337 wildlife rescues between 2021 and 2025, with 66 specifically involving leopards.
