Electronic Interlocking Approved for Seven Solapur Division Stations

Electronic Interlocking Approved for Seven Solapur Division Stations

Indian Railways is upgrading train signals at seven stations in the Solapur Division.

The project will cost Rs 209 crore.

It will use Electronic Interlocking, which is a computer-based system for controlling train tracks and signals.

This replaces older relay-based equipment.

The new system should make it easier to find and fix problems.

It is also designed to help trains run more efficiently.

The work will support the rollout of Kavach, an automatic train protection system.

Kavach can apply the brakes when needed, such as when a train may pass a red signal.

The seven stations are on a high-density railway route.
