NCH Facilitates ₹45 Crore Refunds in 8 Months
The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) in India helped people get back ₹45 crore in refunds over eight months.
They did this by solving complaints through a helpline.
Most of the complaints were about online shopping and travel.
The helpline is like a first stop for people who have problems with their purchases, so they don't have to go to court.
This way, people can get their money back more easily.
The NCH helped people from all over India, including big cities and remote areas.
They also helped people get refunds for defective products, uninstalled internet plans, and unprocessed flight refunds.
The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) facilitated ₹45 crore in refunds across 31 sectors in eight months.
The NCH addressed 67,265 consumer grievances related to refund claims.
E-commerce was the top sector with 39,965 grievances and ₹32 crore in refunds.
Travel and tourism was the second top sector with 4,050 grievances and ₹3.5 crore in refunds.
The NCH operates at the pre-litigation stage under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, enabling speedy and amicable resolution of disputes.
