Telangana Hikes Liquor Prices Starting with Scotch and Vodka

The Telangana government has started increasing the prices of some Scotch and premium vodka brands by Rs 40 to Rs 50 per bottle.

This is just the beginning, as the government plans to raise the prices of all liquor brands by 15 to 20 per cent soon.

The Price Fixation Committee has already reviewed and recommended these changes.

The government expects to make an extra Rs 200 crore every month from these price hikes.

However, wine dealers and consumers are upset because they were not told about the price increases in advance.

The last time liquor prices were raised was in May 2024, and beer prices were increased in February 2025.
