WTO Reviews India's Trade Policy
The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is having a meeting to check India's trade policies.
This happens every five years for India.
The meeting is in Geneva and will last three days.
India's government has been preparing for this review for a long time.
Other countries will ask India questions about its trade policies.
More than 40 countries are expected to talk during the meeting.
The WTO uses two main documents to do this review: one from India's government and one from the WTO itself.
This is the eighth time India's trade policies are being reviewed by the WTO.
The WTO is conducting its 8th trade policy review of India in Geneva from July 21-23, 2026.
The review covers the period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025.
The review is based on a government report from India and a report by the WTO Secretariat.
Over 900 questions have been submitted by WTO members for India's written responses.
More than 40 WTO members are expected to deliver statements during the review.
