Satellite Images Suggest Iran Rebuilding Bombed Parchin Nuclear Facility
New satellite pictures suggest Iran is rebuilding a damaged facility at its Parchin military complex.
The facility is called Taleghan 2 and is underground.
Israel has reportedly struck it more than once.
Workers are now using heavy construction equipment and building stronger concrete protection.
A large cover may be hiding the work from cameras in space and aircraft.
Experts think the facility once held equipment for high-explosive experiments.
Those experiments might have been useful for designing a nuclear weapon.
Iran says it has not sought nuclear weapons.
The pictures do not show exactly what Iran plans to put inside the rebuilt facility.
Satellite images indicate Iran is accelerating reconstruction of the Taleghan 2 facility at the Parchin military complex.
A large tarpaulin appears to conceal construction from satellite and aerial surveillance.
Analysts observed bulldozers, cranes, concrete mixers, trucks and concrete pumps at the site.
New concrete reinforcements and aprons appear designed to improve the facility’s protection against future strikes.
The facility’s suspected links to Iran’s former Amad program have raised concerns, although its intended future use remains unclear.
