Kerala Health Minister Defends Government's Handling of Infectious Diseases

The Kerala Health Minister, K Muraleedharan, has said that the number of people dying from diseases like leptospirosis and dengue has gone down compared to last year.

He thinks this is because the Health Department has been doing a better job.

But the Opposition Leader, Pinarayi Vijayan, says that 150 people have died from these diseases recently and that there are problems with hospitals not having enough doctors or medicine.

They also argue about giving out packed meals in hospitals.

The minister says it's not about the food but about not letting people take over government land.

Vijayan thinks the government is being unfair and stopping a good program.

Both sides have different ideas about what's happening and who's to blame.
