Pakistan Says Failed Mecca Pact Won’t Alter Iran Ties

Pakistan Says Failed Mecca Pact Won’t Alter Iran Ties

Pakistan is discussing what happens after the Mecca Pact failed.

The failure comes during hostilities involving Saudi Arabia and the Houthis.

Pakistan says it may be open to new allies.

However, it says this would not end or weaken its relationship with Iran.

A Pakistani official named Chaudhry said the country handles relationships with different nations separately.

He used Pakistan’s ties with the United States as an example.

Those ties, he said, did not replace relations with Iran or China.

The report does not say when a new alliance will be formed.
