Saudi AI Firm Humain Secures $1.2B Funding
Humain, a company in Saudi Arabia that focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), has received a large amount of money, up to $1.2 billion, from the Saudi government.
This money will be used to build advanced computer systems and data centers within Saudi Arabia.
The goal is to make Saudi Arabia less dependent on foreign technology and to help the country move away from relying solely on oil.
Humain plans to work with other big companies to achieve these goals and aims to have a lot of computing power by the year 2034.
This is part of Saudi Arabia's plan to become a leader in technology and diversify its economy.
Humain, Saudi Arabia's national AI company, raised up to $1.2 billion from the National Infrastructure Fund.
The funding will be used to procure advanced semiconductors and develop up to 250 megawatts of AI data centre capacity.
Humain aims to support the training of 'sovereign' AI models to keep data processing and intellectual property within Saudi borders.
Saudi Arabia is accelerating its AI strategy to diversify its economy away from hydrocarbons.
Humain has partnerships with Elon Musk’s xAI and AirTrunk to develop large-scale data centre projects and aims for 6 gigawatts of power capacity by 2034.
