HC hears plea challenging Speaker’s rejection of Danam’s disqualification petition · thehansindia.com

The Telangana High Court is examining a dispute about whether some lawmakers should lose their seats.

The case involves petitions against 10 BRS MLAs who allegedly joined Congress without first resigning.

BJP MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy challenged the Speaker’s decision about Nagender.

He said Nagender should have been disqualified starting April 23, 2024.

He also asked for certain MLA benefits received after that date to be recovered.

Nagender’s lawyer disagreed with the case.

The lawyer said the petition did not follow the required rules for filing such complaints.

The court continued hearing arguments from both sides.
