FSSAI seizes misbranded infant food from Bengaluru company

India’s food regulator inspected a company in Bengaluru.

Officials found infant food that did not follow required labelling and other rules.

The regulator seized the products.

It also started legal proceedings against the company’s food business operator.

In a separate case, 3.7 tonnes of expired infant food were destroyed.

A court had directed that the expired products be destroyed.

This was done so the food could not return to the food supply.

The inspections are part of a wider effort to check infant food safety.
