Mumbai Port Revives ₹450-Crore Marina Project
The Mumbai Port Authority has started working on a big project to build a marina, which is like a parking and service area for yachts.
This project costs ₹450 crore and will be ready by January 2029.
Right now, yacht owners have to use limited parking near the Gateway of India, which doesn't have many services.
The new marina will have space for 424 yachts and will include a clubhouse, places to fix yachts, places to get fuel and water, and even a fancy hotel and restaurant.
The port authority is building this all by themselves, and once it's done, they'll hire someone to take care of it.
They had to wait for some permissions, but now they have them and can start building soon.
Mumbai Port Authority revives ₹450-crore Marina Project with a January 2029 completion deadline.
Project spans 12 hectares and can accommodate 424 yachts of various sizes.
MbPA will fund and develop the marina independently, making it India's first fully port-led project.
Facilities include a clubhouse, yacht repair and maintenance yards, fuel and water bunkering, and a high-end hotel and restaurant.
Construction is subject to all statutory permissions and is expected to begin this year.
