Gujarat boosts rural housing aid
The Gujarat government has increased the financial help it gives to rural homeless families for preparing their land for building houses.
They are now giving Rs 5,000 per plot and Rs 2 lakh per hectare, which is much more than before.
This money will help families make their land flat and ready for construction.
The government wants to make it easier and faster for these families to build permanent homes.
This is part of a bigger plan called 'Housing for All' to ensure everyone has a place to live.
Gujarat government increased financial assistance for levelling free residential plots for rural homeless families.
Assistance per plot raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.
Assistance per hectare raised from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh.
The increased assistance aims to reduce construction costs and accelerate rural housing development.
The decision is part of the Centre's 'Housing for All' initiative.
