Madurai LIC Fire Death Confirmed as Murder
A senior woman manager at the LIC office in Madurai, named Kalyani Nambi, was found dead in a fire in her office last month.
At first, everyone thought it was an accident, but the police later found out it was actually murder.
Another employee, T Ram, was also hurt in the fire and was taken to the hospital.
The police started investigating again because of the victim's family.
They found out that T Ram had attacked Kalyani Nambi and set the fire to make it look like an accident.
The police think he did this because Kalyani Nambi was looking into some problems with how he was handling insurance claims.
The police have now arrested T Ram for murder.
Kalyani Nambi, a senior manager at LIC Madurai, was found charred to death in a fire in her office on December 17, 2023.
The incident was initially considered an accidental fire, but further investigation revealed it was a premeditated murder.
T Ram, an assistant administrative officer, was rescued from the building with burns and was later arrested for the murder.
The police found that T Ram attacked Kalyani Nambi and set the fire to cover up irregularities in insurance claims settlement.
The post-mortem examination showed injuries on Kalyani Nambi's body that were inconsistent with a fire accident, indicating she was assaulted before being set ablaze.
