Mysuru Home Guard Jobs Attract Overqualified Applicants
The Mysuru district home guard recruitment recently saw a surge in applications from overqualified individuals.
Many undergraduates and postgraduates applied for the positions, which only required a minimum qualification of SSLC.
This was because the job offered stability, a decent salary, and good future prospects.
The state government's revised incentives, including extra pay for working with the police, also made the jobs more attractive.
The department selected 204 candidates, filling vacant posts due to previous resignations.
One home guard, Mahesh, with a postgraduate degree, said he joined the department because the government provided decent pay on time.
Mysuru home guard recruitment attracted many overqualified applicants.
100 undergraduates and 20 postgraduates were selected, despite SSLC being the minimum qualification.
638 people applied for the home guard posts.
The state government revised incentives, increasing the attractiveness of the jobs.
The department has 13 units and recently got approval for another unit.
