Man Dies by Suicide Over Voter List Fear in West Bengal

A 60-year-old man named Sushanta Biswas died by suicide in West Bengal's Nadia district.

He was very scared because his name wasn't on the 2002 voter list, and he thought he might have to leave his home.

His family said he was so worried that he stopped talking and going outside.

The police are investigating his death.

This is the second such case in the district related to the voter list revision.

The Election Commission published the draft electoral rolls, which included the names of deleted voters.

Over 58 lakh names were deleted from the state's draft voter list due to various reasons like being marked as dead, relocated, missing, or duplicate.

People can raise objections and request corrections if their names were incorrectly excluded.
