Nine Detained in Goa for Displaying 'Pakistan Zindabad' Slogans on Shop Boards
In Goa, India, police detained nine people after two shops, a salon and a wine store, showed 'Pakistan Zindabad' messages on their electronic signs late Tuesday night.
People saw these signs and told the police because they were upset and felt it was anti-national.
The police quickly arrested the people from both shops and took down the signs.
Two cases have been filed.
The police are looking into whether someone deliberately put the slogans there or if the systems were hacked.
The people who were detained said they didn't know how the messages appeared.
One shop owner even said his sign hadn't been working for months.
A local politician suggested it might have been hacking and an attempt to cause trouble between communities.
