Court Rejects Clean Chit, Orders Probe into Police Officer's Wealth
A court has rejected a report that said a police officer, ADGP M R Ajith Kumar, did nothing wrong.
The report was about whether he had too much money.
The court looked at documents from someone who complained about the officer and decided the initial investigation wasn't done fairly.
Now, the court will do its own investigation into the claims that the officer bought land and built a house with money he shouldn't have.
The court thinks the first investigation was trying to protect the police officer.
Vigilance Court dismissed report that gave ADGP M R Ajith Kumar a clean chit.
The clean chit, accepted by the government, was invalidated by the court.
The VACB probe was initiated following allegations by former MLA P V Anvar.
The court found merit in the complainant's documents and ordered its own investigation.
The court said the VACB manipulated the inquiry to save Ajith Kumar.
