Pune Mayor Sets 8-Day Pothole Deadline, Demands Road Works Report
The Mayor of Pune is a person who takes care of the city.
Her name is Manjusha Nagpure.
She was not happy about the roads in the city.
Roads were getting holes, called potholes, and people kept complaining about them.
The city has spent a lot of money to fix these holes, but the roads still do not look good.
So the mayor asked the city office to fill every pothole in eight days.
She also asked for a report about all the road work done in the last two years.
She wants to make sure the city is not paying twice to fix the same roads.
The city says there are fewer potholes this year than last year.
Still, the mayor wants the repair work to last a long time.
Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure ordered the municipal administration to submit a two-year road works report within eight days.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been instructed to fill all potholes across the city within eight days.
The mayor wants to check whether public money is being spent repeatedly on the same road repairs, with action against contractors and officials if irregularities are found.
PMC received 5,931 pothole complaints in 2025 and 3,230 complaints so far in 2026.
Nagpure called for changes to the defect liability period (DLP) rules after some contractors reportedly refused to carry out repairs.
