Farmers End Khanauri Sit-In After Centre Invites Talks

Farmers End Khanauri Sit-In After Centre Invites Talks

Farmers had been sitting near the Khanauri border because they wanted the government to discuss their demands.

Haryana authorities had blocked a nearby highway to stop a planned march to Delhi.

The central government invited the farmers to a meeting in New Delhi on September 4.

Because of this invitation, the farmers ended their sit-in and postponed their march.

The highway is expected to reopen soon, although the report does not say it has reopened yet.

The farmers want to discuss issues including minimum support prices and an India-US trade deal.

They said they may protest again if the meeting is cancelled or postponed.

The meeting could restart talks that stopped in March 2025.
