Haryana CM Considers FY2020-21 GST Amnesty Inclusion
Haryana's Chief Minister is thinking about a tax break for businesses that had trouble paying their taxes during the 2020-2021 financial year.
This is because of COVID-19 and some website problems.
This would let businesses pay overdue taxes with smaller fines.
The CA Cell, a group of accountants, asked for this to help small businesses.
The state hopes this will encourage people to pay their taxes and bring more money to the government.
The final decision will be made at the GST Council meeting.
Haryana CM may recommend including FY 2020-21 under the GST Amnesty Scheme.
The recommendation follows a request from the BJP Chartered Accountant Cell.
The GST Amnesty Scheme previously covered FY 2017-18 to 2019-20.
Inclusion aims to help businesses affected by COVID-19 disruptions.
Haryana saw a 16% growth in SGST collection in April 2025.
