Vodafone Idea Gets AGR Relief
The government has frozen Vodafone Idea's adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues of ₹87,695 crore until the financial year 2019.
This means the company won't have to pay this amount right now.
Instead, it will pay smaller amounts over many years.
From 2026 to 2031, Vodafone Idea will pay ₹124 crore each year.
From 2032 to 2035, it will pay ₹100 crore each year.
The remaining dues will be paid from 2036 to 2041.
The government will also check these dues again in the next few months to see if the amount can be reduced.
Vodafone Idea's stock price went up by 7.8% after this news.
However, the company still has to pay a lot of money for spectrum dues, which is ₹1.17 trillion.
Analysts say the company needs more help to pay all these dues.
In its latest financial report, Vodafone Idea reported a net loss of ₹5,524 crore but saw an increase in revenue and average revenue per user (ARPU).
