Indian Army Marks 200th Gunners’ Day, Honours Artillery Martyrs

The Indian Army celebrated the 200th Gunners’ Day.

This day honors the Regiment of Artillery and its long history.

A ceremony was held at the National War Memorial.

Soldiers and veterans placed a wreath to remember artillery personnel who died serving the country.

The regiment began its history with 5 (Bombay) Mountain Battery in 1827.

It now uses many kinds of weapons, including guns, rockets, missiles and precision munitions.

The Indian Army said artillery supported Operation Sindoor in 2025.

It also returned fire during shelling along the Line of Control, according to official statements.
