India’s FY26 Growth May Near 7%, Exceeding RBI Forecast

India’s central bank thinks the economy may grow faster than it previously expected.

Growth could be close to 7% in the financial year ending in March.

This is higher than the bank’s earlier forecast of 6.7%.

The prediction is based partly on expectations for strong growth from April to June.

India is facing challenges such as a weak monsoon and high energy costs.

Poonam Gupta said India should try to grow by about 7.5% or more each year.

More foreign money may enter India and strengthen its financial position.

However, economists say India may need growth above 8% for many years to become a developed economy by 2047.
