Vietnam Tops List as Most Budget-Friendly Country for Expats in 2025
The Expat Insider survey looks at how much money expats (people living and working outside their home countries) have to spend in different places.
This year, Vietnam is the most affordable country, where expats can live comfortably.
Other Southeast Asian countries also rank high.
On the other hand, Canada is the least affordable.
The survey questioned over 10,000 expats from around the world, asking them about their finances and if they felt happy with how much things cost.
This helps people who move to other countries to know what to expect about the cost of living.
Vietnam is the most budget-friendly country for expats for the fifth year.
The Expat Insider survey included responses from over 10,000 expats.
Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and Indonesia, rank high for affordability.
Canada and the UK are among the least affordable for expats.
The survey assessed the cost of living and financial satisfaction among expats.
