Birsa Zoo Welcomes New Animals
The Birsa Zoo in Ranchi got some new animals like wild dogs, black swans, and monitor lizards.
These animals came from a zoo in Visakhapatnam.
In return, the Birsa Zoo sent some of its animals to Visakhapatnam.
This exchange helps to keep different kinds of animals healthy and ensures that zoos work together to protect animals that are in danger.
The zoo director said this is important for taking care of nature's variety and doing research.
Birsa Zoo in Ranchi received new animals including wild dogs, black swans, grey pelicans, monitor lizards, Alexandrine parakeets, and barn owls.
These animals were part of an exchange programme with Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam.
In return, Birsa Zoo sent a Himalayan black bear, spotted dove, silver pheasant, and gharial to Visakhapatnam.
The objective of the exchange is to increase species diversity, strengthen genetic balance, and ensure scientific cooperation in conservation.
Zoo director Jabbar Singh emphasized the importance of such programmes for biodiversity conservation and research.
