Mohali Mayor Accuses Government of Stalling Development Works
The Mayor of Mohali and Congress councillors have accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the local AAP MLA of stopping important development projects in the city.
They say that basic things like roads, sewerage, and water supply are not being worked on because of political reasons.
The Mayor also mentioned that they receive calls to stop certain works, and projects that have already been approved and budgeted for are not being allowed to proceed.
The councillors also talked about specific issues like new motors not being installed at the waterworks and tree-pruning machines not being provided.
The Mayor alleges that there is discrimination in approving projects based on political affiliation and that there are irregularities in the new ward delimitation.
The MLA and his son, who is also an AAP councillor, denied these allegations and said that the Mayor is lying and trying to shift blame.
Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu and Congress councillors accused the AAP government and local MLA Kulwant Singh of stalling development works due to political interference.

Congress councillors reported issues such as new motors not being installed at waterworks and tree-pruning machines not being provided due to lack of funds.
The Mayor alleged discrimination in project approvals and irregularities in the new ward delimitation, stating that wards with negligible SC voter population have been reserved for SC candidates.
The MLA and his son, AAP councillor Sarabjit Singh Samana, denied the allegations, calling the Mayor a liar and an obstacle to development.
