Resilient Asset Management to sell up to 4.98% Paytm stake

Resilient Asset Management to sell up to 4.98% Paytm stake

Paytm is a company that lets people pay for things using their phones.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the person who started Paytm, also owns another company called Resilient Asset Management.

That company wants to sell a small part of its Paytm shares, up to about 5% of the company.

But the money from the sale will not go to Sharma — it will go to another company called Antfin.

A few years ago, Antfin gave its Paytm shares to Resilient but kept the right to the money from them.

A big part of the sale already happened, with about 1.92 crore shares sold for about Rs 2,949 crore.

Paytm says Sharma's own shares are not changing because of this deal.

Paytm has also started making money for the first time since it became a public company in 2021.

It made a profit of Rs 552 crore in its last full financial year.

Paytm shares closed at Rs 1,580 on Monday.
