Uber Launches Chennai Metro Ticketing in App
Uber is now letting people in Chennai buy metro tickets through its app, similar to what it offers in Delhi.
This means you can plan your whole trip using the Uber app.
The app works with the Chennai Metro.
To celebrate, there's a discount on metro tickets and some Uber rides during August.
Uber plans to add more public transport ticket options using ONDC.
Uber launched metro ticketing in Chennai through its app.
The service is in partnership with Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) and powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Users can plan journeys, purchase QR-based tickets, and access real-time transit information within the Uber app.
Riders in Chennai will receive a 50% discount on metro tickets and select Uber rides in August.
Uber plans to enable booking tickets for the State through the ONDC platform in the future.
