Andhra Pradesh Council Passes 10 Bills Amid YSRCP Uproar

The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council met for the last day of its session.

Opposition YSRCP members wanted to discuss concerns about a teacher-recruitment process called Mega DSC-2025.

They also asked about the sports quota and called for Education Minister Nara Lokesh to resign.

The chairman did not allow the requested discussion.

Opposition members shouted slogans and protested inside the House.

The chairman paused the meeting twice, while one report says it was adjourned three times to restore order.

Despite the protest, the Council passed 10 Bills that had already been approved by the Assembly.

It also approved a resolution about a water-pollution law and ended the session.
