Now, Acura will focus on its own electric SUV called the RSX.
The RSX will be built by Honda and use its own technology.
The RSX is expected in 2026 and will have a new operating system.
Acura also plans to explore hybrid options.
This move aims to give Acura more control over its electric cars and better match customer needs.
Acura is discontinuing the ZDX, its first all-electric SUV, after one year.
The ZDX was built at a General Motors plant using GM’s Ultium EV platform.
Honda cited changing market conditions and strategic realignment as the reason.
