BJP Announces Telangana Protest Over ₹15,000 Crore Fee Dues

The BJP says the Telangana government has not paid private colleges money promised for student fee reimbursements.

One report says the unpaid amount is nearly ₹15,000 crore, while another says it is nearly ₹12,000 crore.

The party says these delays are hurting about 20 lakh students, their families and colleges.

It claims some colleges are keeping students’ original certificates because they have not received payment.

It also says some colleges are struggling to pay their teachers.

The BJP announced a 48-hour protest for August 24 and 25.

Another report described a two-day hunger strike beginning on a Monday, even though police did not give permission.

BJP leaders also criticized the Telangana government’s education spending and school conditions.

The articles do not include a response from the Congress government to these allegations.
