AP Raises Minimum Fee to ₹47,000 per Seat
The state of Andhra Pradesh is changing the rules for how much students have to pay to study engineering in private colleges.
The new rule says the cheapest fee will be ₹47,000 for each seat, up from ₹40,000.
This change starts on August 10.
Colleges will keep the same number of seats but can move them between departments if students want.
If a student pays more than the new fee, the extra money will be returned.
The highest fee right now is ₹1.05 lakh, and that could also be changed.
Andhra Pradesh government will raise the minimum fee for private engineering colleges to ₹47,000 per seat from ₹40,000 effective August 10.
A committee has been formed after colleges requested a fee change following the end of the YSR Congress era.
The highest current fee per seat is ₹1.05 lakh and may also be revised.
Colleges will maintain current seat numbers but can shuffle seats among departments based on demand.
Students may be refunded if the fee increases after admission; if the fee is set higher, they must pay the balance.
