Amazon Launches Alexa+ in India With Child Safety Controls
Amazon has brought a new version of its Alexa assistant to India.
It is called Alexa+.
Alexa+ can understand conversations in English, Hindi, and Hinglish.
It can help people control smart-home devices and plan activities.
It can also help with shopping, meals, travel, music, and entertainment.
Amazon says Alexa+ is designed to work with many services people already use.
Children can use learning features and quick quizzes.
The device can adjust to a child’s age.
Parents can use controls to manage or delete a child’s profile and recorded utterances.
Amazon launched its generative AI-powered Alexa+ assistant in India on September 16, 2026.
Alexa+ supports natural conversations in English, Hindi, and Hinglish across several services and devices.
Amazon says the assistant can help with smart-home control, shopping, meal planning, reservations, travel, music, and entertainment.
The assistant includes age-adaptive learning features, quizzes, and parental tools for managing children’s profiles and utterances.
Amazon says Alexa+ uses multiple models and was built from scratch rather than being a simple Alexa upgrade.
