Odisha to Allocate Sites to Landless Families
The Odisha government in India is working to give land to families who don't have any.
They have asked all the leaders in different areas to give land to these families so they can build houses.
There are special programs to help these families, but some people are still waiting for their land.
The government has found more than 200,000 families who need help, and they are trying to make sure everyone gets the land they need to build a home.
Odisha government directs district collectors to allocate house sites to landless families under rural housing schemes.
Over 200,000 landless households identified during the Awaas+ 2024 survey under PMAY-G.
871 beneficiaries of PMAY-G in 11 districts and 50 beneficiaries of PM-JANMAN in 3 districts are still awaiting land allocation.
Government previously instructed BDOs to hold monthly meetings with tehsildars to resolve such issues.
